18 Dec 11 - Generator

Generator - To celebrate the last Media Mingle for 2011, we tested out one of Auckland's newer venues, Generator, down on Customs St in Auckland's CBD. To celebrate a bit of Christmas cheer, guests were offered a glass of bubbly on arrival, thanks to Lion Breweries. Despite the horrible weather outside, everyone had a great night mingling away - can't wait to see what 2012 brings!

19 Oct 11 - Tyler St Garage

This month's Media Mingle was held at the very popular Tyler St Garage on Quay Street. A big thanks to Aden Bushell and the team at Media Monitors and Brandtology for sponsoring the drinks for this event. Hope to see you all at the next one - hopefully we can squeeze one in before the end of the year!

12 Aug 11 - Northern Steamship

For June's Media Mingle this year, we all ventured off to the Northern Steamship - located on the corner of Quay and Gore streets. Something the Northern Steamship is truly famous for is its array of lamps and paintings decoratively placed around the room.

8 Mar 11 - Fort Street Union

Fort St Union - The first Media Mingle of 2011 was held at Fort St Union bar in the heart of the city.

Fort St Union is a new bar in an old venue. The recipient of a massive makeover a few months ago, the bar is now a buzzing hub with an eclectic mix of the business types and backpackers.

With an outdoor terrace and a large indoor bar (not to mention a great, open plan kitchen), it's definitely somewhere you should add to your list of places for after-work drinks.

30 Nov 10 - Cassette Nine

Cassette Nine - Our final mingle of the year was held at Cassette Nine on Vulcan Lane in central Auckland. It's hard to believe that Media Mingle has been going for over a year now. The contacts I've made have surpassed my expectations and proved the eternal value of face-to-face networking. For this event, Cassette Nine were very generous in providing awesome drinks and a great DJ. Cheers guys.

26 Oct 10 - La Zeppa

La Zeppa - For the October shindig, we took over La Zeppa bar and kitchen on Drake Street in Freeman's Bay. It's one of my favourite venues in Auckland and proved an intimate yet spacious venue for the evening. Unfortunately, due to the photographer being offered a last-minute paid gig, we have no photographic evidence from this event.

28 Sep 10 - twentyone, SkyCity

twentyone, SkyCity - Having never previously ventured into any of the bars at SkyCity, I was greatly impressed by twentyone bar. It has a high-class, sophisticated feel and a sense that you have escaped from the outside world. In other words, it was a perfect venue for a networking night. The staff were very efficient, the food was excellent and, as ever, the evening was made all the better for seeing some new faces.

31 Aug 10 - Empire Tavern

Empire Tavern - We switched up the theme of the August Media Mingle from bar to pub, which made for a nice change. The Empire Tavern were great hosts as we pretended it was already summer by turning the outdoor heaters up and taking over the outdoor area. Thanks go to Lou Draper from Rockstar PR for helping organise and to Keri Little for taking the photos.

27 Jul 10 - Degree Bar

Degree Bar - We shifted a very short distance along the Viaduct for July's Media Mingle, where the drink theme was martinis. Around 200 people braved the chill to escape into the back of the venue and catch up on the latest industry gossip. The girls from Sutherland Kovach were again the resident photographers at what was a great Winter evening.

29 Jun 10 - Cargo Bar

Cargo Bar - For our first event at The Viaduct, we ventured to the private upstairs area at Cargo Bar and we weren't disappointed. With a great view across the harbour, the space proved perfect for networking. Guests sipped champagne, tucked into the great canapes and enjoyed fine service from the excellent staff. A fine evening all round!

25 May 10 - Hotel De Brett

Hotel De Brett - For our May event we moved to the fabulous boutique hotel that is Hotel De Brett. Media Minglers enjoyed champagne and canapes from the kitchen that won Metro magazine's 'Best New Restaurant 2009' award. Guests flowed between the open plan rooms of the hotel's second floor bar that has been converted to feel like an outside courtyard. The venue was a great success and Media Mingle will certainly be returning!

27 Apr 10 - Sale St - Round Two

Sale St, Round Two - Due to the outstanding success that was the March event, we returned to Sale St, but this time with a twist. As well as the usual drinks, nibbles and networking, we were delighted to welcome alt-country singers Tami Nielson and Lauren Thomson. In addition to Sale St, we would like to thank Toi Toi Wines and Epic Beer for again supplying beverages.

30 Mar 10 - Sale St

Sale St Mingle - We hosted the fifth Media Mingle at one of Auckland's trendiest drinking and dining venues, Sale St. We had the ideal mix of indoor and outdoor areas, which worked perfectly. Sale St generously provided free drinks, including some great cocktails, as well as great bar food. A huge range of Auckland media types posed for photos in front of our 'media wall', provided by print solutions company, Benefitz (www.benefitz.co.nz).

23 Feb 10 - Honey Bar

Honey Mingle - To take advantage of the great weather, the fourth incarnation of Media Mingle was on the roof terrace at Honey Bar. It was a great change to be outside, with our resident photographer, Clinton Tudor taking some great pictures. Honey Bar laid on nibbles and our alcohol sponsors, Epic Beer and Toi Toi Wines, provided some free drinks.

26 Jan 10 - The Hyatt Regency

Media Mingle 3.0 was held on 26th January 2010 at the 'Top of the Town' venue at The Hyatt Regency, on the corner of Princes St and Waterloo Quadrant. There was a huge selection of free food provided by the great chefs at The Hyatt Regency as well as an unlimited bar. Over 120 Auckland media types enjoyed the great hospitality put on by The Hyatt Regency as well as the fantastic views of both the Hauraki Gulf and the city.

8 Dec 09 - Clooney

Mingle Bells - The second Media Mingle, entitled ‘Mingle Bells’, was on the 8th December in the private function room at Clooney, one of Auckland’s top restaurants. In keeping with the restaurant’s reputation for great food, Clooney provided fantastic complimentary canapés. A diverse mix of Auckland media folk turned out and enjoyed a complimentary glass of champagne in intimate surroundings. All in all, another evening of great networking and good conversation, topped off with great service from the staff at Clooney.

19 Nov 09 - Suite Bar

Media Mingle – The inaugural Media Mingle was held on 19th November 2009 at Suite Bar, on the corner of Wolfe and Hobson Streets. There was a great turnout, with a mix of people from across the Auckland media spectrum. Suite Bar proved perfect for the event, with superb bar staff and a great atmosphere. The evening was enhanced by a collection of YouTube’s most popular viral videos, which were projected on the wall next to the bar.
